Petra Diamond, a mining company in South Africa, found a white diamond in September 24th. This diamond is categorized as one of the biggest and the finest diamonds in the world.The discovery was only released on Tuesday (29/9). This is estimated to be 507 carat and worth around US$20 million diamond. This diamond was found with other 3 big diamonds, 168 carat, 58 carat and 53 carat. A 480 carat diamond worth around US$ 18 million was also found in the same location at the end of last year.
These diamonds were found in the famous mine called Cullinan. In this mining area, the biggest diamond in the history was also found more than 100 years ago. The recent found diamond is now being analyzed by the experts to determine its truly value.
“The Cullinan mine gives another great diamond to the world. The beauty of this diamond is spectacular and crucial,” said the Petra Johan’s CEO, Dippenaar. “Early indication showed that this diamond has special color and clearity.”
Petra representative also said that this new diamond is one of 20 biggest diamonds with the finest quality ever found in the world. The biggest diamond that was ever found is 3106 carat and is named Cullinan. This diamond was then divided into 9 parts and mostly located in British Crown Jewels, England.
